The Washtenaw County Water Resources Commission has recommended that the inlet and outlet of the neighborhoods south retention pond be cleaned out. If we authorize the commission to do this work, there will be a special assessment added to your property taxes. If we delay the work, the retention ponds and drainage system may overflow and backup into our yards and basements.
During this special meeting we will discuss the Commission report and vote if we want to do the work and add an assessment to our property taxes. Meeting is 7pm, June 22 at the Township Civic Center. Hope to see you there.

The new board will be elected at the Association
annual meeting on June 6 at the Township
Civic Center.
All positions are open for election. Joining the board is a great way to have a
positive impact on the way our neighborhood is run. Time commitment is one board meeting per month
and about 10 hours per month, depending on which position you are looking at. You can also contact the current board member
to get some specific feedback. If you
are interested in running for a board officer position, contact Membership
Officer Dave Stowe at membership@fordlakevillage.com.

The Association has hired a private security company to patrol the neighborhood on December 24-25 and again on December 31-January 1. With many neighbors traveling for the holidays, keep an extra sharp eye out for suspicious behavior and report it to the police. Let’s make this holiday season a time to celebrate.

The turkey leftovers are gone and the bowl games are set so it must be time for the Annual Holiday House Decorating Contest.
Rules are simple. A team of judges will go around the neighborhood December 17-18 from 6-9 pm to evaluate the homes. Any seasonal holiday decorations on the front of the house will be considered. The top three homes will receive $25 gift cards to buy more lights for next year. |

The recent road repair work done in the subdivision was funded by Ypsilanti Township and the Washtenaw County Road Commission. Due to the hard work by Township Supervisor, Brenda Stumbo, Washtenaw Road Operations Director, James Harmon and Association President Bill Stuart we were able to complete $15,000 of road repairs at no cost to the Association. Thanks to all for the support and hard work to keep the neighborhood looking good.

The Association Board has negotiated with the Washtenaw County Road Commission to hot seal the neighborhood roads at no cost to us. Work will begin Thursday, September 2 and continue through Tuesday, September 7. During this time there is NO STREET PARKING allowed. If cars are left on the street it will inhibit the effectiveness of the work.
