The Ford Lake Village Board was recently notified of theft that occurred from a resident’s unintentionally unlocked car on High Ridge. A cellphone charger and loose change were stolen. Today, the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s office issued the following statement. We encourage you to remember to always lock your vehicle and close your garage doors when you are not actively out and about to keep an eye on it. We also encourage you to leave your outside garage lights on at night to light up the neighborhood. Also, keep your eyes open for any suspicious activity and to contact the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s office if you see anything suspicious.
Let's work together to keep our neighborhood safe!
Sincerely,
FLVPOA Board
Ypsilanti Township residents: SECURE YOUR VEHICLE AND DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN PLAIN SIGHT!!!
The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is urging residents to secure their vehicles when parked on the street or even in your own driveway. Most thefts from motor vehicles is a result of the opportunity presenting itself in the form of an unlocked car or truck. Criminals use these opportunities to take anything of value from your vehicle. Keep in mind that most auto insurance polices DO NOT cover the contents of your vehicle! Call 911 immediately if you see someone appearing to be suspiciously investigating cars in your neighborhood! Remember: "An educated and engaged community is our best partner."
