Information for New Neighbors and Prospective Residents
Welcome to the neighborhood! Below is some information about the neighborhood and association.
Ford Lake Village is governed by the Ford Lake Village Property Owners Association (FLVPOA). A volunteer board represents the interests of the neighborhood and serves one-year terms from the annual meeting in June. The Association is governed by the Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions and the Association Bylaws. Dues are collected annually in June to be used for the landscaping and maintenance of the subdivision as well as to host neighborhood events. To contact the board, send an email to email@example.com .
Neighborhood Past & Present
Our subdivision consists of 205 homes in Ypsilanti Township, Michigan. The first wave of homes was built in 1994. The original sales brochure shows the floor plans and lot maps for the subdivision. As the homes age, similar items wear out at the same time. The Nextdoor app can be a helpful resource for getting information on contractors, service people, and companies recommended by your neighbors at Ford Lake Village and the surrounding communities. Simply download the app and search for "Ford Lake Village" to join our community on Nextdoor! It's also a great way to connect with your neighbors, sell items, get local event and township information, and keep abreast of news happening locally.
There are several annual events that are held to bring the neighborhood together. Events include: an Easter Egg Hunt, Spring Cleanup Day in May, Annual Meeting in June, Garage Sale in July, Halloween Trick-or-Treating in October, and a Holiday Decoration Contest in December. We also have quarterly Association meetings to share information and hear feedback from the neighbors. Check the calendar to see what is coming up next.
The subdivision is governed by Ypsilanti Township. The Ordinance Enforcement Department can be reached online or at 485-4393. We participate in the Lincoln Neighborhood Watch which meets bimonthly, the second Monday of the month at 7 PM at the Ypsilanti Township Civic Center. For more information contact (734) 328-4842. Trash and recycling are picked up on Wednesdays. You have an option of renting a 96-gallon toter to use for either weekly refuse and/or bi-weekly recycling service for a small fee.
